David Scott Metzger

David Scott Metzger, age 48, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at his home under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio and with his loving family by his side. David was born February 8, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio.

A 1989 graduate of Northridge High School, David was employed in the gas industry for 25 years and most recently was employed with Hendrickson in Hebron. He was an avid sports fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved to ride motorcycles.

David is survived by his wife of seven months, Jennifer Lynn (Price) Metzger, whom he married June 21, 2019; son, Tristen Scott (Harlee) Metzger; step-sons, Samuel (Rachel), Chase and Tyler Homstad; grandchildren, Melanie Metzger and Braecyn Reign Bazler; his mother, Elizabeth Dell (Goble) Metzger Leahigh and step-father, Gary Leahigh of Columbus; brothers, Donald C. Metzger, Jr. of Galion and Dane (Lorrie) Metzger of Delaware; sisters, Denise (Craig) Kelling of Hebron and Dianna (Luke) Stiffler of Reynoldsburg; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law, Pat Price of Johnstown; father-in-law, Tony Price of Pataskala; and his faithful dogs, Meaty, Lana and Hasenpfeffer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Chester Metzger, Sr. and two brothers, Douglas Michael Metzger and Dustin James Metzger.

At his request, no service will be observed. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Jersey Cemetery.
