David L. Mitchell

A Celebration of Life Service for David L. Mitchell, 51, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Celebrant Clifford Mason officiating. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date. David was born in Newark, Ohio on August 15, 1973 to Ronald A. and Karen L. (Hunt) Mitchell. He passed away on December 12, 2024 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. David graduated from Newark Catholic High School, Class of 1991. He was a supervisor at Tectum, Inc. for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially attending his son’s sporting activities. David will be missed by everyone that knew him. In addition to his parents, survivors include his son, Jaedon Mitchell; brother, Ronald Alan Mitchell, Jr.; former wife, Katie Mitchell; uncles, Carl (Michelle) Hunt, Chester Hunt, Daniel Hunt, Jerome (Dixie) Hunt and Michael (Brenda) Mitchell; aunts, Annie Hunt, Cynthia Hunt and Lorena Simpson; and numerous cousins and friends. David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Millie Hunt; paternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Colleen Mitchell; uncle, Eugene Hunt; and an aunt, Brenda Bibbins. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of David to The American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Mitchell family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the James Cancer Hospital, for all of the love and care that was provided to David.
