A funeral service, celebrating the life of David Russell Boring, 83, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. A private burial will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens.David was born in Licking County on July 29, 1932 to the late Dewayne and Florence (Stretton) Boring. He passed away at the Heath Nursing Care Center on October 17, 2015.David proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement, he was a crusher operator with Rockwell International for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his bicycle and spending time with his family.Survivors include one son, Duane E. (Jan M.) Boring; daughter, Kimberly Boring; grandchildren, Brittany (Robert Weekly) Boring, Jill (Shawn) Huff, Jordan Boring and Bryce Boring; six great grandchildren; and one nephew and three nieces.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death his wife, Elaine (DeLong) Boring in 2003; and sisters, Joanne Simpson and Mary Lou Haycook.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of David to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.Family will received friends at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for David and the Boring family.
