David Paul Van Wormer

David Paul Van Wormer, age 70, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home. He was born December 25, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Marvin and Ruth Van Wormer.

David was a 1971 graduate of North High School in Columbus. He attended Cullinary Arts School in Toronto. Employed in 5-star restaurants all the way down to diners, David was a chef for many years. He loved his dogs and they were his family. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, David also enjoyed walking fields looking for artifacts, especially arrowheads. He was good with his hands and made necklaces and trinket boxes.

He is survived by his adopted family, Sandy and Vince Petruzzi, Joshua, Jared and Skylar; a niece, Michelle Tamasovich, nephew, Jason Tamasovich, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanna L. Tamasovich.

At his request, no service will be observed.
