David Leroy Wade, age 74, of Granville, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. David was born November 19, 1946 in Haydenville, Ohio to the late Donald and Helen Marie (Waugh) Wade.
David was a 1964 graduate of Newark High School and served in the United States Naval Reserves for several years. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 40 years of service. Mowing the lawn was David’s passion and he also enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, and league golfing. David and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the United States and going on cruises. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed going to their sporting events as well as spending Wednesday’s with his great-grandchildren, Izzy and Wade.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Oletta Sue (Bond) Wade, whom he married June 19, 1968; two children, Annette (Ken) Blair of Granville and Jeff Wade of Newark; grandchildren, Morgan Blair, Heather (J.R.) Walton, Kendra Blair, Lauren (John) Sikora, Hanna Wade, Rachel Wade, and Arin Wade; great-grandchildren, Wade Walton and Isabelle Kalash; brothers, Roger (Linda) Wade of Florida and Keith Wade of Newark; sister, Debra (Denny) Hess of Newark; uncle, Bud (Marty) Waugh of Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
