David Wayne Devoll

A funeral service celebrating the life of David Wayne DeVoll, age 45, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will take place in Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.David was born December 27, 1968 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital.David was a 1988 graduate of Newark High School where he proudly played in the percussion section of The Pride of Newark Marching Band. He loved to play video games and the drums.He is survived by his mother, Ruth E. (Nutt) DeVoll; brother, Robert D. DeVoll of Newark; sisters, Teresa (Terry) McConnell of Heath and Bernadette (Jeff) Hunt of Ashville; half-brother, Robert Harry DeVoll of Clinton, New York; nieces and nephews, Brittini and Chenoa Hancock, Jessica (Travis) Dozer, Shawn DeVoll and Dalton Hunt; great-nephews, Gavin Zannetti, Landon Volker and Luke Dozer; great-niece, Alexis Dozer; an uncle Howard Haga of Purity; several cousins; and his cat, Papa.David was preceded in death by his father, Harry Robert DeVoll; and by an aunt, Edna Wright.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the DeVoll family.
