A memorial service, celebrating the life of Debra K. Thompson, age 63, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2486 Granville Road, Granville with Bishop Chris Watt officiating. Debra was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 5, 1954 to the late Chalmer and Ruth (Crawford) Styers. She passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on October 22, 2017. Debra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Granville. She had traveled to England for two years as a missionary for the church. She enjoyed jewelry making, fishing, helping those in need and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, David W. Thompson, whom she married April 16, 1995; son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Jackie Rudder; daughter, Crystal Thompson; grandchildren, Christopher Rudder, Annalisa Rudder and Aric Rudder; siblings, Carol Salyer, Chalmer Styers Jr. and Mike (Carrie) Styers; special friend, Debbie Colburn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
