Delbert G. Jack Spring, 80, of Hebron, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Autumn At The Lake Healthcare in Thornville. He was born on May 24, 1933 in Roseville, son of the late Delmar and Martha (Kern) Spring McIntosh. Jack was raised on a farm with several siblings including a twin brother, Delmar. They were soon given the nicknames Jack and Jim, the same names given to the family mules. Having worked two full time jobs for over 30 years, Jack shared with his namesake an incredible work ethic. He lost most of his fingers on his left hand, on the family farm, but he never let that get him down; continuing to move forward working several factory jobs. Full of kindness and joy, he had an ever present smile on his face. Jack got much happiness from helping others, especially his family. While he lived with constant pain from arthritis and other ailments, one never heard him complain. He enjoyed Blue Grass and country music, especially the local artists; and the drawings at the Buckeye Lake Eagles, where Jack was a member. He also liked fishing and sports, especially Ohios professional teams. He left with a legacy of simply being a good man, and we hope that we are able to be more like him. He is survived by his loving family: son, Tony (Maria) Spring; half brothers, Wilbur Billy Jones and Howard Raymond Jones. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Carol A. (Jones) Spring; his brothers, Paul, Jim, and Johnny Spring and Bert McIntosh. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 s. Main St. where a funeral service, celebrating Jacks life, will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating.
