A funeral service, celebrating the life of Della Faun Webb Hill Penick, 89, of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with her grandson Daniel Hill as celebrant. Faun will be laid to rest with her family in the Spring Grove Cemetery, near Claylick.Faun died peacefully on Saturday morning, December 19, 2015, with her family at her side, following an extended illness. She was born January 27, 1926, in Newark to Cretis B. and Anna E. (Smith) Webb. She married William R. Hill on May 30, 1951, and Bill passed away on September 27, 1985. From that marriage she was blessed with children Bruce C. (Julie) Hill of Newark, Susan E. (Steve) Walker of Lewis Center, Patricia L. (Jim) Betounes of Hebron, along with grandchildren Daniel E. (Sara) Hill of Thornville, Jeffrey A. Hill of Newark, Stephanie D. (Jeremy) Cooper of Lewis Center and Nicholas S. Betounes of Hebron, and her seven great grandchildren James, Abigail, and Noelle Hill; Aubrie, Chase and Ethan Cooper; Serenity Hill; nephews Robert Pound and Daniel Webb, nieces Shirley Oswalt and Judith Pound; along with her many friends from Eastern Star, here in District #12 and from around the State of Ohio.Faun later married J. Herbert Penick on April 5, 1997, and Herb preceded her in death on October 30, 2011. Her step children are Virginia (Cease) Bauman of Hebron, Vivian (Charles) Kirk Webb of Florida, Robert (Sue) Penick of Hebron, step grandchildren Amanda Griffith, Sara Penick, Jennifer (Herbert) Crawford, Debbie (Eric) Walker, Jeff (Khris) Kirk, Larry Bauman and 5 step great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Betty (Roland) McCullough and Polly (John) Allen.Faun worked at several jobs throughout her career; notably at Owens Corning Fiberglas in Newark where she met Bill, the Girls Scouts of America, Sears Department Store, E-Z Way Systems and Proctor, Robb & Company. But her focus was always on her children and family; along with her lifelong friends she made through Eastern Star and her church home.She was a member of Hebron New Life United Methodist Church, a71 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, first at Hanover Chapter, joining in 1944 and then affiliating with Eagon Chapter #123 in Hebron in 2007. In 1989, she was appointed the Grand Representative of Tennessee in Ohio, and in 1999 she was appointed the Deputy Grand Matron for district #12. She was also a former mother advisor for Newark Rainbow Girls and Jobs Daughters.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, brothers Cretis D. Bub Webb, Harold Webb, sisters Maxine Webb and Edith Pound, along with one grandson Brian Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St. in Kirkersville, on Monday evening, December 21, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where Eagon Chapter #123 O.E.S. will convene a chapter of sorrow for Eastern Star Funeral Services at 7:45 p.m.The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Ohio Eastern Star Home Endowment Fund, 1451 Gambier Rd., Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050.
