Denver Mac Smith, 64, of Thornville, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mac was born on October 21, 1948 in Harts, West Virginia to the late Denver, Sr. and Lona (Workman) Smith. He retired from Buckeye Steel Castings after 32 years of service. Macs tales of hunting and fishing, his love of old westerns and his endless giving heart will be missed by his family and friends. He loved horseback riding and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He is survived by his loving family: wife, Millie; children Brian (Lisa), Phyllis, Debbie (Ed), Ray (Diann), Randy (Deanna), Arlie Jr.(Clara), and Brenda (Charles); his brothers, Benny (Ellen) and Columbus; sisters Marie (JC), Donna, Juanita (Charles), and Genevieve (Richard); his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Carter and Freeland and sisters Reba, Sue, Fanny, Faye, and Phyllis.A funeral service, celebrating Macs life, will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at noon in the Thornville home of Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S.
