Derick Preston Runyons

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Derick Preston Runyons, 40, of Heath, will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in the N.T.C. Apostolic Church, 345 Cedar Run Rd. in Newark, with visitation to take place from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Derick will be laid to rest with his family in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville, after services.

Derick passed away suddenly last week in Newark. He was born July 13, 1982 in Newark, the son of Penny Runyon Alford of Heath and Randy Gahegan of Hebron. Derick was a graduate of Utica H.S., and worked as an installer.

He is survived by his family: which in addition to his mother and father includes his step father Harold Alford, his sons David R. and Derick P. Runyons, his daughter Aubriana Runyons, his brothers Marcus, Nicholas and Kyle Alford and Randy Gahegan; sisters Randi Burchard, Amanda Gahegan; his grandson Hezikiah; his uncle David (Angie) Runyon, aunt Maggie ( Gary) Gordon; grandfather Hershel Runyon; along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Edna Runyon, uncle James Waller, brother Jeremy Gahegan; uncle Adam Runyons, and aunt Karen Peach.
