Donald A. Able

Donald A. Able, age 71, of Thornville, passed away on July 23, 2017 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born in McCloud, California on July 5, 1946 to the late Jesse D. Able, Sr. and Virginia (Ball) Able, who survives. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a foundry worker in the steel industry for many years. He enjoyed archery, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors, but most important in his was spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Susan (Anderson) Able, whom he married April 22, 1967; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Praesentia Able; daughter, Michelle Able; grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Amber, Ashley and Dillon; sister, Muriel (Robert) Jackson; brothers, Jesse D. (Marie) Able, Jr., Colin (Sherry) Able and Duane (Linda) Able; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. At Donalds request, no services will he held. The Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Donald and the Able family.
