Donald Raymond Archer

A memorial visitation, celebrating the life of Donald Raymond Archer, 80, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Donald was born in Newark, Ohio on September 3, 1940 to the late Raymond C. Archer and Pauline (Fishbaugh) Brown. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 13, 2020. Don was a lifelong resident of Newark and owned and operated Archer’s Woodworking for more than 40 years. Don was well known in the community for his exceptional woodworking and antique restoration skills. Don took great pride in his craftsmanship and the quality of his work. Don loved live music, was a talented drummer, baseball player, outstanding bowler, avid cyclist, and car enthusiast. He also enjoyed collecting clocks, playing euchre and reading. Survivors include his children, Donald (Deborah) Archer and Kathrine Frank; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many friends. Since Don was a dog lover, the family requests memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing.
