Donald R. Ball, Sr.

    Donald R. Ball, Sr., age 70, of Newark, passed away on April 7, 2019, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on October 4, 1948 to the late Donald Lee Ball and Eloise (White) McElfresh. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Newark American Legion, Post 85 and the Newark VFW, Post 1060.  Most important in his life, was the time he spent with family, especially doting on his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Dixie L. (Goff) Ball, whom he married March 23, 1971; daughters, Dawn (Les) Burton, Destiny Rodeniser and Deirdre Ball; grandchildren, Ryan Burton, Gabriel Rodeniser, Skyla Smith, Gavin Rodeniser and Danika Smith; great grandson, Rylee Burton; brother, Terry Ball, Sr.; two nephews, Terry Ball, Jr. and Trent Ball; and numerous friends.
