A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Charles Blust, Jr. 82, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:30 a.m., with Father David Sizemore as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Donald was born in Tiffin, Ohio on December 20, 1939 to the late Donald Charles Blust, Sr. and Florence (Kirsch) Blust. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on April 11, 2022. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was an accounting manager with Owens-Corning Fiberglas for over 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church; was a past president of the Newark Evening Lions Clubs; and was a past board member of Fiberglas Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed playing tennis, bowling and was in many Euchre and Pinochle card clubs over the years. Donald was a devoted husband and father and was a wonderful friend to many. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mona J. (Hockman) Blust, whom he married July 2, 1960; son, Jeffrey Blust; and daughters, Brenda Blust and Tina Blust. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Blust. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donald to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
