A funeral service celebrating the life of Donald Lee Berry, age 88, of Granville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hartsough officiating. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Don was born June 20, 1929 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Warren and Audrey (Cosgrave) Berry. He passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home. Don was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country from 1948-51 during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge. Don retired from Communicolor where he had been employed for 20 years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Granville and the VFW Post #1060 in Newark. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Patricia A. (Orris) Berry, whom he married September 27, 1952; four children, David Berry of Newark, Dan (Angie) Berry of Cape Coral, Florida, Don Berry of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Dana (Cynthia) Berry of Granville; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dean Berry; a grandson, Travis Berry; and two sisters, Harriet Dickinson and Evelyn Seipel.
