Donald E. Livingston

December 3, 1956 — April 27, 2024

Donald “Don” Eugene Livingston, 67, passed away peacefully in Newark on April 27th, 2024, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

A son of Ralph and Hazel (Rissler), Don was born December 3, 1956, in Newark, Ohio. He grew up surrounded by his three brothers and older sister and during childhood earned the nickname “Bunk”. He graduated from Newark High School in 1975 and went on to work at Owens Corning for many years. Later in life he returned to college and completed a physical therapist assistant degree from Zane State which was prompted by his dedication to the sport of bodybuilding. Many will remember Don as a trusted mentor and source of support in the local AA community. He was a familiar face around Newark and never shied away from meeting new people or talking with old friends. Don gave generously of himself and exhibited a deep love and loyalty to those he considered family. His life consisted of many different chapters and he lived each with a positive attitude and mischievous spirit.

Don leaves behind wife Tina (Head); son Beau (Tish) Livingston; step-children Harmony Longstreth, Megan Kimball-Dillon (Brendan), and Bristen Creamer; grandchildren Isaac Livingston (Alayna), Emma Livingston (Colin), and Morgan Longstreth (Max); great-grandchildren Anson, Sophia, and Kaizen. Don is also survived by brother Chauncey, half-brother Brooke, and extended family member Lucy Holt Channel, Don’s “chemo-buddy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Rick and Dustin Livingston; and sister and brother-in-law Beth Ann and Larry Bush.

In remembrance of Don and his support of the Humane Society, the family requests those wishing to express sympathy consider a gift or donation to their local Humane Society. A fund has also been set up and can be accessed at https://gofund.me/60891cf1

Don selflessly elected to make an anatomical donation in an effort to improve the lives of others; a cremation will follow. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. The family encourages all to submit memories and photos of Don to [email protected]

CRISS WAGNER HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Don and his family.
