A graveside service celebrating the life of Donald K. Luby, age 88, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, at Newark Memorial Gardens with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Don was born January 8, 1933 in Newark, Ohio to the late Edward K. and Lois (Cramer) Luby. He passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Inn at SharonBrooke. Don was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country from 1953-1955. He retired from Georgia Pacific where he had been employed for over 30 years. Don was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars and doing puzzles. He is survived by a son, Michael L. Luby of Newark; a grandson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie (Jerry) Hollingshead and Barbara (Billie) Hess; and a brother, Dick Luby.
