Donald Ray Mealick

Donald Ray Mealick, age 84, of St. Louisville passed away on July 18, 2018. Don was born August 3, 1933 in Crooksville, Ohio to the late Robert R. and Elizabeth J. (McMillen) Mealick. A 1951 graduate of Crooksville High School, Don was employed by Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola while in school and then joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Sergeant from 1953-57 in Okinawa. Don retired in 1995 from Rockwell where he had been employed for 29 years. He was also employed as a groundskeeper at Velvet Ice Cream until 2006.Don enjoyed reading, puzzles, yard work and John Wayne movies. He was a member of the St. Louisville Christian Church and served a number of years with the Licking County Mounted Police. In his lifetime he donated over 27 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beatrice K. (McCune) Mealick, whom he married May 22, 1954; four children, Charles A. (Teresa) Mealick of Corning, Donald W. (Vickie) Mealick of Newark, Karen R. (Tim) Richards of Utica and William R. (Deb) Mealick of Bladensburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Sarah) Mealick of Zanesville; brothers-in-law, Harry (Donna) McCune of Gun Barrel City, Texas and Harold (Janet) McCune of Dublin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. At his request, there will be no visitation or service observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Don and his family.
