Donald Williamson

December 9, 1949 — February 10, 2016

Donald Harry Williamson, 66, of Thornville, passed away early Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Don was born December 10, 1949, the son of the late Bryce and Alma (Mitchell) Williamson. He grew up in Hebron, one of three sets of twins which belonged to families on North Street during the 1960s. He was a 1968 graduate of Lakewood H.S., and served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Don enjoyed golfing and was an avid bass fisherman. He was a former member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles and golf leagues at Raccoon Valley Golf Club.Don was a wonderful handy man, and could fix anything. He enjoyed helping others with their problems. Along with his sister Barb he built Herb and Ewe east of Jacksontown on Rt. 40.and was a self-employed custom home builder. Later on he owned and operated Williamson solid surfaces.He is survived by his family: wife Lynn Williamson, step-daughters Tara and Penny Bush, step grandchildren Payton Wilcox, Madelin Swartz, Gavin Hammond and Gage Wagers, his sisters Susie (Willie) Mills and Barbara Wade.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother Ronald E. Williamson in 1989.Honoring Dons wishes there will be no services at this time. He will be inurned at the Rittman National Cemetery at a later date.The family wishes to thank the Generations hospice especially Jodi, and his nurse Lori for their kind and compassionate care.Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Dons name.HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for Don and his family.
