Donavan Winegardner

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Donavan G. Winegardner, 81, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 with his nephew, Delbert Winegardner as celebrant. Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery.Donavan died Sunday, July 22, 2012, in Lancaster following an extended illness. He was born July 12, 1931, the son of the late Ralph Z. and Eldred (Fisher) Winegardner.He retired after many years of service at Diamond Power and was a school bus driver in the Northern Local school district. He loved farming, mowing grass and spending time with his family, especially at gatherings that involved eating. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and Church Choir, and the N.R.A.He is survived by his loving family: His step-children Timothy McKenzie, Cheryl (Art) Howard, Jodi McKenzie, Jefferey McKenzie and Beth (Tom) Lane;numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one brother.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
