Donna Jean (Roelle) Thompson, 82, of Hebron, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 in Newark following a brief illness. She was born June 5, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Shertzer) Roelle. She attended Whitehall Yearling High School and worked for Bath and Body Works in Columbus. An active member of the Buckeye Lake community, Donna was a member of the Buckeye Lake Village Council and assisted in writing the original town charter. She was also a member of the Buckeye Lake Firebelles. She attended the Lighthouse Memorial Church and loved gardening, flowers, and caring for her dogs. She is survived by her siblings, Carolyn Monroe and Norman “Sonny” Roelle; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Thompson, in 1992; her brother, James Roelle; her sister Barbara Leindecker; and a niece, Renee McPeek. Private family services have been arranged for Donna in the Hebron Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bill.
