Doris Louise Beckett

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Doris L. Beckett, 97, of Hebron, will be held Monday, March 21, 2022, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Scott Hayes as celebrant. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband John in the Kirkersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Doris was born July 18, 1924, in Buckeye Lake, the daughter of the late Frank and Jenny (Legg) Grandy. She graduated from Hebron High School, class of 1942. She was a lifelong resident of Hebron, working for a brief time at Ohio Power, then raising her daughters, and working as the bookkeeper for the Fitch Brothers grocery in Hebron. An avid reader, she adored spending time with her grandchildren, cooking for family and tending her flowers. She was an Ohio State Buckeye fan. She was an animal lover and bird watcher. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Hebron Post #285, American Legion, and the Hebron 55+ club. She attended the Hebron United Methodist Church. Doris is survived by her family: daughters Susan (Michael) Steinman, Kathy (Tim) Emmenegger; her grandchildren Beau (Molly) Steinman, Tyler (Christy) Steinman, Danielle (Michael) Laxton, and Jay Emmenegger; great-grandchildren Troy, Wyatt, Braden, Louise, and Beckett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John, her infant brother and her two sisters: along with an infant grandchild.
