Doris Ann Weidner

Funeral services for Doris Ann Weidner, 90, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Buckeye Lake, with visitation preceding the service from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.

Doris passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, following an extended illness. Her family was at her side. She was born February 16, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Estelle (Waitzman) Bauer. She was a graduate of Dayton Julienne High School, class of 1952.

She married James Weidner on May 1, 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2019, following 64 years of marriage. She worked for years as the baker at Gardner’s Food Center in Buckeye Lake and Reynoldsburg. She was an active member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, VFW and Eagles at Buckeye Lake. She enjoyed woodworking, playing euchre, sewing, and feeding the birds and ducks, as well as working puzzles.

She is survived by her children: Shirley (Steven) Greene, James (Amy Dawes) Weidner Jr., Angela (Brian) Pitts, Lawrence (Lori) Weidner, Robert Weidner; grandchildren Michelle (Josh) Zehnder, James (Sarah) Weidner III, Stephanie (Jarrod) Diamond, Andrew (Dr. Christopher Carlos) Weidner, Danielle Greene, Gared (Kayla) Greene, Sarah (Cameron) Weidner-Poweleit; great grandchildren Logan, James IV, Cecelia, Lucille, Gabriella, Liam, Gracie, Cora and Callie; along with her sister Sara Jane (Donald) Winegar, her brother-in-law Steve Illes; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her daughters Mary and Ann Marie Weidner, her brothers Nicholas and William Bauer and her sister Mary Illes.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
