Dorothy Jean Helser

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Dorothy Jean Helser, age 83, of Thornville, will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating.Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery.Dorothy was born in Pleasantville, Ohio on December 10, 1932 to the late Noel Amos and Mabel Ardella (Love) Stoltz.She passed away on April 2, 2016 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.Dorothy and her late husband owned and operated many businesses over the years and was a devoted homemaker to her family.She was a member of Olivet Church of the Brethren in Thornville and was a former member of the Welcome Wagon in Mt. Vernon.Dorothy had a great sense of humor, enjoyed crafting, bowling, gardening, was an avid reader, but especially enjoyed spending time with family and family gatherings.Survivors include her children, Donna (Robert) Gorton, Steven A. Helser, Larry D. (Sue) Helser, Catherine S. Wofter, Gerald W. (Debbie) Helser, Michael E. (Tina) Helser, and Nancy M. McConnell; brother, Robert W. (Jean) Stoltz; daughter-in-law, Angel Helser; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Helser; son, James Helser, daughter-in-law, Linda Helser; and brothers, Charles Stoltz and Paul Stoltz.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to the American Diabetes Association.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 56 S.
