Dorothy was 73 when she passed away at her son’s home in Dresden on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born on September 29, 1949 to the late Anton Mantz and Nellie Mantz, who had lived in Newark, Ohio. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and listening to Christian music, but most important was the time she spent with her grandchildren, family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Arthur Mantz; sister, Karen Caraway; children, Lorrie (Trent) Thomas, David Bice, Jr., and Brian (Lucy) Bice; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and companion, Robert Peck, who she lived with until she was unable to do so. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Riley; and sister, Mary Hash. Dorothy touched everybody who was around her. Today was Dorothy’s day, God has taken another angel home. When Tomorrow Starts Without Me When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready in Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me “Welcome Home.” So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart. Dorothy’s name means “God’s Gift” and a gift she was to all who got to know her. In lieu of flowers and cards, please make a donation to Hospice of Central Ohio, in care of Dorothy Mantz. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dorothy and her family.
