A funeral service celebrating the life of Dorothy Darlene Shell, 86 of Hebron, will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hebron chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 108 N. 7th Street, Hebron, two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and for your protection, a maximum of 30 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing. Dorothy was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 22, 1934 to the late Paul and Eva Karnes. She passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on January 29, 2021. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading the newspaper and watching Ohio State Buckeyes football. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband, John E. Shell; daughter, Eva Marie Shell; son, John Lee Shell; grandchildren, Austin Bowers and Alexis (Mark) French; great grandchild, Caden French; sister, Beverly (Dennis) Balcer; and brother, Kim (Cindy) Karnes; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Karnes and Bill Karnes. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dorothy and the Shell family.
