Dorothy Winegardner

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Dorothy E. Winegardner, 82, of Thornville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 56. S Main St. in Thornville. Private family inurnment will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery, later in the Spring. Dorothy died suddenly on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born February 26, 1932 in Bowling Green Township, Licking Co, the daughter of Clodius and Princess Cooperrider Hupp. She was a lifelong homemaker and member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville. She is survived by her loving family: children Larry (Sandria) Winegardner, Linda Andrews, Danny (Marilyn) Winegardner, Cindy (Larry) Shy, Mary (Mark) Harlan, Becky (Paul) Weakly, Judy (Jim) Sentivany; her daughter-in-law Eleanor Winegardner, sisters Zelma Brown and Ruth Smith, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Winegardner, her sons Jerry L and Paul F. Winegardner, son-in-law Roy Andrews, 2 sisters and 4 brothers, along with her grandson Andrew J. Weakly. Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial services at the funeral home. Memorials in Dorothys memory may be directed to the Dawes Arboretum, Jacksontown, where a tree will be planted in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
