It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Eric Paxton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 53. Douglas was born on Tuesday, January 4, 1972, in Columbus, Ohio, and was a resident of Hebron, Ohio.
Douglas is lovingly remembered by his cherished wife, Barbara A. (Bushby) Paxton, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage since their wedding on September 10, 1994. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Roberta J. (Ardner) Paxton and Daniel K. Paxton, Sr. His legacy lives on through his children, Kyle M. (Bailey Cumbow) Paxton, Sidney D. (Avery) Miller, and Kurtis M. Paxton; and his treasured grandchild, Paxton B. Miller and one additional grandson, due in June. He also leaves behind his brothers, Daniel K. (Karla Woods) Paxton, Jr. and Robert J. Paxton, as well as his sister, Jennifer R. Denney; and his loving dog, Miley. Douglas's life was enriched by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.
Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, Robert and Gladys (Novotni) Ardner, and his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Irene Paxton.
Douglas dedicated 30 years of his professional career as a Prepress Imposition Operator at West Camp Press in Westerville, Ohio. He was a respected member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Buckeye Lake. In his personal life, Douglas found joy in boating, fishing, listening to music, traveling with his family, and attending concerts with his wife, Barbara. He was a passionate Cleveland Browns and Notre Dame football fan and an unwavering family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
A private Funeral Mass will be held for the family at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church to honor and celebrate Douglas's life and the love he so generously shared.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Douglas’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul, 135 Wilson Street, Newark, Ohio 43055, reflecting the compassion and generosity that he embodied throughout his life.
Douglas's arrangements are being thoughtfully handled by Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service - Thornville.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the love Douglas shared with all who knew him and the indelible mark he leaves behind in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but eternally remembered.
