Dwight "Dave" Sager

A funeral service celebrating the life of Dwight D. Dave Sager, age 64, of Newark, will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dave was born in Newark, Ohio on November 6, 1952 to the late Harvey and Gertrude (Head) Sager. He passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville on November 5, 2017. Dave was a heavy equipment operator with Premier Concrete Services. He also worked for Lakewood School System as a school bus driver and a maintenance worker. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers, watching NASCAR and NCIS, but most important was spending time with his wife and family, especially doting over his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Cynthia J. (Petersen) Sager, whom he married April 10, 1976; son, Joe M. (Jennifer) Sager; siblings, Kathleen Knotts, Diana (Alan) Smith, Christine Tucker, Mary (Don) Phillips and Robert (Diane) Sager; grandchildren, Shyanne, Caleb, Caitlyn, Alissa, Coralyn and Dylan; great grandchildren, Hayden and Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by a son, Chad Sager; and mother and father-in-law, Helen and Charles Petersen.
