E. Jean "Mom" Brokaw

A funeral service for E. Jean Mom Brokaw, age 81, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Robert Caw officiating. Burial will take place in Brandon Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.Jean was born February 21, 1933 in Milford Township, Ohio to the late Dean M. and Irma R. (Frost) Oldaker. She passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Arlington Care Center.Jean retired from Valley Lanes. She enjoyed reading, word finds and watching old movies.She is survived by nine children, Ricky (Doc) Widebrook of Newark, Mike (Libby) Brokaw of Newark, Cindy (Gary) Suttles of Heath, Jeff (Gloria) Brokaw of Newark, William H. (Linda) Brokaw, Jr. of Heath, Patricia (James) Bishop of Nashport, Piper (Bryan) Lewis of Newark, Tim Brokaw of Newark and Bob (Joyce) Brokaw of Heath; 29 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Bud (Barb) Oldaker of Newark; special niece, Jane Metzger of Mount Vernon and niece, Beth Ann Walker of Newark.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Brokaw, Sr.; son, Steve Welker; granddaughter, Rebecca Welker; great-granddaughter, Zeraline K.
