A funeral service celebrating the life of Earla Mae Badley, age 97, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Bruce L. Dollings officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville. Friends may call at the funeral home 179, Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mae was born in Ontario, Canada on February 8, 1920 to the late Herbert and Nellie (Colley) Hobday. She passed away on September 7, 2017 at Heath Nursing Care Center. Mae began evangelizing at the age of 16, traveling to Indian Reservations. She was naturalized to the United States in June of 1969. She married her late husband, Alvin Badley, where they traveled the world, opening churches and evangelizing. At her age of 92, she continued to travel and preach. She lived her whole life in ministry and for the Lord, Jesus Christ. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mae to New Hope Center, 18 S. 6th Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. She had numerous friends around the world that she considered family.
