A funeral service celebrating the life of Edgar L. Rohrer, age 85, of Heath, will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Burial will held on Monday, at 2:00 p.m. at Beverly Cemetery, Beverly, Ohio with military honors provided by the Beverly American Legion. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the Heath Masonic Lodge will have a service at 3:45 p.m. Calling hours will also be held on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Edgar was born in Monroe County, Ohio on March 13, 1932 to the late Arthur U. and Mabel Marie (Nieb) Rohrer. He passed away on June 24, 2017 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. Edgar proudly served his country in the United States Army. He received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Ohio University. Prior to retirement, he was an architectural engineer with JBA Architects and Korda Nemeth Engineering in Columbus. He was a member of the Rufus Putnam Masonic Lodge, Chapter, #108; Heath Masonic Lodge #771; 70 year member of Waterford Grange #231; and a former member of the Heath Lions Club, where he was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He enjoyed building, watching racing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his son, Terry L. Rohrer; brother, Don (Jane) Rohrer; grandchildren, Tricia and Brady Rohrer; nieces and nephews, Dickie Barrick, Daphne Ross, Brian McElwain and Kevin McElwain. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edgar to the American Heart Association.
