A memorial service, celebrating the life of Edgar Lee Lothes, 88, of Harbor Hills, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2012 in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Tom Myers as celebrant. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.Edgar died Saturday evening, October 20, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.He was born in the Reform area of Licking Co., on November 20, 1923, the son of the late Charles and Lola (Anderson) Lothes. Edgar was a 1941 graduate of Hebron H.S. and served honorably as a Merchant Seaman from 1944 to 1947.He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and golfing. He served his community as a volunteer fireman in Hebron, was a building contractor for 40 years (1956-1996) in Licking County. A member of the Elks lodge #391 in Newark, Edgar was an active member of the Buckeye Lake Historical Society and Buckeye Lake Civic Association. He was a former member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles and the Harbor Hills Country Club.He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elnora Lamp, and brother Leland Lothes.
