Edgar "Ted" L. Eppley

A funeral service celebrating the life Edgar L. “Ted” Eppley, 88, of Thornport, will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Lee Crader officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Edgar was born on November 24, 1933 in Coshocton to the late Arthur and Olga (Hall) Eppley. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 29, 2022 at his home as he wished. He was a professed Baptist by faith. Ted was an excellent mechanic and had his own shop for many years. He was also a school bus driver in Perry County until he retired in 1988. He loved his family and was always there for them. Gardening and flowers were his passion as well as all animals, especially cats, squirrels and birds. He was an avid fisherman and taught his grandchildren how to fish. Ted left behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Minnie Helen (Barton) Eppley; children, Jerry (Cyndie) Eppley, James Eppley, Mary Ann Thorpe and Teddy Joe (Jenny) Eppley; grandchildren, Austin Eppley, Maranda (Jacob) Thorpe, Stormi Eppley, Tracy Eppley, James (Jessica) Eppley, Misty Furman and Sierra Eppley; brothers, James (Carol) Eppley and Jack Eppley; sister, Gwen Litzenger; and many great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bart Thorpe; siblings, Gene (Norma) Eppley and Helen Hall; brother-in-law, Jerry Litzinger; and sister-in-law, Nancy Eppley. Ted will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him because he never knew a stranger. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Ted and the Eppley family.
