Private family services have been arranged for the family of Edward "Chub" Tompkins, 79, of Buckeye Lake, who died Saturday evening, July 21, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.He was born August 31, 1932 in Newark, the son of the late Walter and Lenora (Pitts) Tompkins. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles (30 year Golden Eagle), Licking County R.E.A.C.T., and St. Johns Lutheran Church, Linnville.He retired in 1997 from the Caine Corporation in Hebron.He is survived by his loving family: wife Ruth D. Tompkins, step-son David Bonner of Frazeysburg, grandson David Bonner Jr. (Heather), 2 great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Jacob; and a brother Gerald Tompkins of Somerset.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Fred and Pete and sister Margaret.At Chubs request, there will be no calling hours or services.
