Edward J. Greenwald, Jr.

  A graveside funeral service celebrating the life of Edward J. Greenwald, Jr., 69, of Newark, will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Anthony Peyton officiating.  Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Edward was born in Newark, Ohio on January 3, 1950 to the late Edward J. Sr. and Florence (Freeman) Greenwald.  He passed away at his residence on July 25, 2019. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Prior to retirement, he was a machine operator with Owens-Corning Fiberglas for over 40 years.  He was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed camping, remodeling homes, tinkering with classic automobiles and loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Marjorie (Williams) Greenwald, whom he married February 9, 1974; son, Tracy A. (fiancé, Erin) Greenwald; grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Annabelle Greenwald; sister, Carolyn Banks; brother, Michael Greenwald; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edward to Generation Hospice or the Newark VFW.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
