Edward Stuart Lewis, 65, formerly of Buckeye Lake, passed Monday evening, February 15, 2016, in Newark following an extended illness. He was born in Columbus, April 10, 1950, the son of the late Cecil Edward and Thelma Mae (Rinehart) Lewis. Ed was a graduate of Marion Franklin H.S., class of 1968, and had served honorably in the US Marine Corps. He retired from Restaurant Equippers in Columbus. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing and, thanksto his friend John Sheffield, he will be able to goback to his favorite hunting spot onemore time this fall.He is survived by his family: his companion of many years Becky McCann, son Jason Schroeder,step-daughter Renee McCann,step-son Brent McCann; brother Dr. Steve (Melissa) Lewis, sisters Dianne ( Dr. John) Winnestaffer, Debra (Bob) Elflein; along with grandchildren,step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Ed was preceded in death by infant daughter Edie Nicole Lewis and his parents. A memorial gathering, celebrating Eds life, will be held at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 2-4 p.m.Ed suffered from a condition known as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
