Edwin Clarence Madden, Jr., 69, of Newark passed away on October 16, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 15, 1946 to the late Edwin Clarence Madden Sr. and Hazel (Lewis) Madden.Edwin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelors Degree from The Ohio State University and his Masters Degree from Central Michigan University. Prior to retirement, he was a logistics engineer, working at the Newark Air Force Base for 28 years and with Boeing for 10 years.He was a member of the Luther B. Turner Masonic Lodge #732; Aladdin Shrine; Scottish Rite and York Rite. Edwin was an avid reader, enjoyed photography, camping, traveling, sailing, cooking and especially enjoyed spending time with his cherished family.Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Lynn (Richards) Madden, whom he married June 8, 1968; daughter, Krista (Rockwell) Bonecutter; son, Mark (Jennifer) Madden; four grandchildren, Maddie and Brody Bonecutter and Jacob and Shelby Madden; sister, Sandra (Clyde) Overturf; brothers, Donald (Delilah) Madden and Gary Madden; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edwin to the American Heart Association.
