A Homegoing service, celebrating the life of Edwina McIntyre, 79, of Columbus, Ohio, will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Newark, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Michael A Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church, 383 Washington Street, Newark, on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Edwina was born in Newark, Ohio on November 7, 1942 to the late Edward and Annie Mae Moore. She passed away at Mt. Carmel East on March 23, 2022. Prior to retirement in 2009, Edwina was the executive director of L.E.A.D.S, for 40 years. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and sang in the choir. Edwina was passionate about education, serving as a school board member and president of Par Excellence Academy in Newark. She had also served as a board member of Harvest Management Company. Edwina enjoyed reading and was a devoted homemaker to her family where she especially loved cooking and hosting family events. Edwina touched the lives of those around her and has made an impression with every encounter. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience and the ability to make a difference! Survivors include her children, Valerie S. Johnson, Albert (Billie) Johnson, Roseann (John) Culver, Lynnette (Michael) Smith, Tremayne (Rebecca) McIntyre and Ryan (Elbony) McIntyre; sister, Pearlie Mae Moore; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Edwina and the McIntyre family.
