Elgie Dee Corky Fletcher, age 75, of Newark, passed away on September 18, 2014 at Arlington Care Center in Newark. He was born on July 4, 1939 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to the late Elgie Dee Fletcher Sr. and the late Dorothy A. (Neitzell) Dondrea.Corky proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a semi-truck driver for over 43 years. He was a former member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, painting and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlotte (Hoadley) Fletcher, whom he married on June 3, 1960; five children, Tony (Sharon) Fletcher, Mark (Shelly) Fredenburg, Dorothy (Robert) Laughlin, Paul Fletcher and Cynthia (Mike) Klaus; grandchildren, Jamie Jo, Amber, Garret, Ben, Stu, Robby, Jason, Amanda, Michael, Brandon and Alexa; brother, Jeff (Judy) Dondrea; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Casey and Bradley Dondrea.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville St., Newark, is honored to care for the Fletcher family.
