Elizabeth Ann Steinmetz

A funeral service celebrating the life of Elizabeth Ann Steinmetz, age 83, of Etna, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will take place in Pataskala Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 19, at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Ann was born February 5, 1934 in Athens, Ohio to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Figgins) Mathewson. She passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Ann was a Supervisor with American Electric Power for 47 years, retiring in 1999. She and her husband owned Steinmetz Amusements for 40 years. Ann was a member of the Kirkersville United Methodist Church. She loved her family dearly and was very devoted to them. She also loved her cat, Sassy. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gina Whitson and Donald James Whitson, both of Etna; great-grandchildren, Ashley Blankenship, Rachel (Philip) Blankenship, Samantha Maxwell, Stasha (Kody) South, Krystal Maxwell and Jessie and Jordan Whitson; great-great-grandchildren, Donna Blankenship, Leonna Cullen, Alyssa Whitson and Emma Shalosky; nephews, J.C., Mark and David Mathewson; and many beloved family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edwin Steinmetz, on July 25, 2014; by her daughter, Donna Elizabeth Steinmetz on March 2, 1995; and by two brothers.
