Elizabeth C. (Skal) Elliott, 91, of Hebron, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Cindy Adult Care in Sugar Grove. She was born on November 18, 1921 in Butler, Pennsylvania daughter of the late John and Pauline (Nowakowski) Skal. Elizabeth retired from Western Electric after 30 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Buckeye Lake, and enjoyed crocheting in her free time. She is survived by her loving family: children, John Elliott, Judy (John) Mercer, and David (Joan) Elliott; seven grandchildren: John Elliott, Jr., Allen (Heather) Elliott, Monica (Rob) Scruggs, Shaun Mercer, Amy (Joe) Stimmel, Stephanie (Steve) Estock, Kacie (Ryan) Antle. 16 great-grandchildren: Mike Getchell, Devin Elliott, Tristan Elliott, Matthew Elliott, Dylan, Levi and Hunter Elliott, Tyler and Dalton Scruggs, Alex Mercer and Arianna, Alexis, Allie and Abigail Stimmel, Ryan Antle, and Keagan Estock; one great-great-grandchild: Carter Getchell, five brothers, Carl, Walter (Wilma), Ed, Paul (Debbie), and Robert (Joy) Skal; sister in law Shirley Skal, brother-in-law Robert Thompson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weston Elliott in 1994; an infant daughter; a son, James Elliott; two grandsons, Joel and Ron Elliott; three brothers, Leo, Frank, and David Skal; and two sisters, Lottie Hayes and Joan Thompson. A Funeral Mass, celebrating Elizabeths life, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Buckeye Lake, with Fr. William Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Somerset at a later date. Friends may call at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m. where a Wake Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Rose and Dan Kerr and staff of Kerr Cottage, Cindy Shumaker and staff of Cindys Adult Care and FairHope Hospice for their tender loving care of Elizabeth.
