Elliott Drake King

A funeral service celebrating the life of Elliott Drake King, age 17, of Granville, will be held at 10 AM on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at Denison University Swasey Chapel, 100 West College Street, Granville, Ohio 43023 with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville. Friends may call from Noon – 2 PM and 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 East Broadway Street, Granville, Ohio 43023. Elliott was born August 20, 2007, in San Antonio, Texas. He passed away early Sunday morning, October 20, 2024, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital following a valiant battle with cancer. Elliott was a student at Granville High School in the Class of 2026. A gifted musician, he played several instruments, including baritone, sousaphone and tuba, in both the GHS Wind Ensemble and Marching Bands. Elliott also played the steel drums and was in Concert Band. He is survived by his loving family including his father and step-mother, Shane A. and Sarah King of Granville; mother, Emily Puterbaugh of Groveport; siblings, Isaac King, Adam King, Lily King, and Jacob King; grandparents, Brent Puterbaugh, Toni and the late Edward Tomlin, Peter and Cindy King, Laura and Mark Atwell; great-grandmother, Lucinda Puterbaugh; aunts and uncles, Jessica (Kevin) Young, Meredith (Jeremy) Woelfle, Tyler (Megan) Puterbaugh, Kyle (Kim) Puterbaugh, Leah Jent, and Mitchell Underwood; many, many cousins; and The Kind Nine.
