A funeral service, celebrating the life of Elliott David Sims, 56, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Don Moshgot as celebrant. Private family burial will take place at Kirkersville Cemetery. A reception will follow the funeral service at White Chapel UM Church.Dave died suddenly Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Newark. He was born in Newark on December 13, 1958, the son of the late James Elliott and Helen Louise (Sparks) Sims. He worked for SBS and Holophane corporation. An avid hunter, fisherman and camper, he was a proud member of the NRA.He is survived by his loving family: wife Pamela (Norviel) whom he married on September 3, 1975, son James (Tracy) Sims, grandchildren Paige, Kyrsten and Jesse Sims; his sister Kathy Roberts, and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest son David Sims in 2007; brother, Jimmy Sims and grandson Cameron Sims.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville.
