Elsie M Henderson

Elsie Mae Henderson, 86, formerly of Kirkersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 16, 2023, following a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1936, in Kirkersville, the daughter of the late Austin L. and Sarah H. (Fleak) Griffis. She attended Kirkersville Schools.

She enjoyed a long career with F & R Lazarus Company as a photographer. She was also employed at D.C.S.C. She attended the Kirkersville Baptist Church and the Johnstown Independent Baptist Church and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Gahanna post of the V.F.W.

She is survived by her children: son Duane (Kim) Cathell and daughter Charlotte (Terry) Ashcraft; her grandchildren Tiffany (Mike), Kristen (Erin), Kaley (David), Tyler and Taylor; her great- grandchildren Christian, Aiden, Ethan, Clayton, Savannah and Waylon. Her stepchildren Lucy Ponder, Carrie Carrell and Doug Henderson, along with her good friend Barbara Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville with Graveside Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Kirkersville Cemetery. Her pastor, Dan Scarberry will be celebrant.
