Emily Ann Brown, age 71, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her cherished family. Emily was born August 14, 1944 in Richlands, Virginia to the late James A. and Edith I. (Kinder) Short.Emily retired from Limited Brands. She loved gardening, caring for her flowers, decorating and keeping an immaculate home. Her greatest moments were the times she spent with her family on vacations, boating and poolside. She enjoyed making breakfast for everyone and was known for being the best Gammy.She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roy T. Brown, whom she married January 11, 1963; three daughters, Sonna (Larry) Miller of Somerset, Shelly Ferrando of Baltimore and son-in-law, Mark Ferrando of Lancaster and Debbie (Thomas Randy) Workman of Somerset; grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Miller, Jeremy (Ericka) Miller, Aubrey Anne Miller, Brooke (Steven) Griffin, Tony (Brittnee) Ferrando, Emily Grace Ferrando and Natalie Marlene Workman; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Boston, Khloe, Julia, Alyus and Lorelei; loving brother and sister, Roger (Judi) Shortt of Edmond, Oklahoma and Juanita (Bob) Sims of Lancaster; aunt, Ethel Whitt of South Boston, VA; and special love for nieces and nephews, Chuck, Larry and Lori as well as Wayne, Eric, Roger, Kelliand Angie.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.Friends may call from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 12, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
