Emily Bell Schuh

A funeral service celebrating the life of Emily Bell Schuh, age 99, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Otterbein Kendal (formerly Kendal of Granville) with Pastor Karen Chakoian officiating and Pastor Paul Ulring providing the eulogy.

Interment will take place at a later date in the columbarium at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church at Mill Run.

Emily was born February 7, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio and considered it to be a blessing to be born into the Christian home of Henry and Amelia (Koerner) Schuh. Emily passed away on February 16, 2022 at Otterbein Kendal in Granville.

Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Capital University and a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Through the years, she maintained memberships in Pi Lambda Theta, Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Delta Kappa, AAUW, and Christian Women. Emily gave 40 years to the education of youth in the Columbus City and Upper Arlington Public Schools.

She is survived by six nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Granville, Otterbein Kendal, Upper Arlington Lutheran Church at Mill Run, or to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
