A funeral service celebrating the life of Ernest L. Noah, Sr., 76, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors being observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Ernest was born in Batesville, Indiana on January 18, 1948 to the late Carter and Ernestine (Hunter) Noah. He passed away at Altercare Newark North on August 11, 2024. Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 85 in Newark. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved joking with others, but most importantly was the time he spent with his grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda L. (Van Gundy) Noah, whom he married August 30, 1980; children, Trishia (William Murphy) Thompson, Ernest Noah II, Christopher (Jeannie) Noah, Bridget Powell and Pamela Merritt; sister, Roberta Downard; brothers, Keith (Pat) Noah and Kevin (Cathy) Noah; grandchildren, Emily, Aubrey, Chandler, Daisie, Lilly, Maverick, Bentley, Stela and Elizabeth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
