"Ernie" Ernest Richard White

A graveside service celebrating the life of Ernest Richard “Ernie” White, Sr., age 62, of Newark, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, at Hanover Cemetery with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm prior to the graveside service at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks must be worn inside the funeral home. For your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing.

Ernie was born July 5, 1958 in Newark, Ohio to the late Richard and Elsie (Fulton) White. He passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ernie was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy (Allen) White; children, Charlae Inman of Mount Vernon, Daylene (Ernie) Curtis of Zanesville, Erni (Josh) Davis of Newark, Tia White of Newark, Ernest R. White, Jr., Nevaeh White, Jason White, Paige White, Brittany White, Johnathon White and Karina White, all of Hanover, Chasity Wills of Malta Vansetta (Shawn) Muncie of Hebron, Cheryl (Bill) McPherson of Fallsburg and Ellen Fink of Lorain; many grandchildren; brother, James White of Newark; sister Judy (Ron) Fry of Newark; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Celia Hunter and Tim and Paris Pelletier.

Special thanks to Ernie’s hospice nurse who was also known as family, Valerie Hunter-Norris, R.N., for her excellent care of Ernie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael White; a brother, Earl Schimpf; and a sister, Sherry Padar.
